I'll perhaps be the 'better than average student'... 'better than average' in classes... 'better than average' in physical education... :o I only need some good motivation from time to time to be pulled towards the 'firsts ones'

I never blew anything up, but nothing in the science room was safe when we were using the bunson burners... tended to melt everything and make pretty plastic blob sculptures.

While heating some copper sulphate, with sodium hydroxide and aluminium powder, some of the colourless solution spilled on the table... and guess what? The solution turned black, and stuck to the table

The most amazing reaction by far I've witnessed is the reaction of copper sulphate with reducing sugars. The colour changes from blue, to green, fades to yellow, then goes orange and finally to red! What a colour phase! :)

I have this picture in my head of Mr. Bear as Brian from Porky's.
Edit: Unky, don't put potassium metal in the water. Important safety tip.

I know, it's even more dangerous to put potassium in acid, and even more dangerous yet if you caesium, and even more dangerous if you put francium :D
Some friends and I were thinking of some sort of 'wow' weapon to 'paralyse' a whole army, and guess with what we came? Throwing powdered sodium on them from the sky. Then, using cloud seeding, and when the rain comes down, everything would get burnt! Lol, it was just in joke, don't worry.
