    Washing machine won't spin
    It starts fine, but when the timer gets into drain and spin it goes dead. Is there a switch or a relay that's bad?

    The problem is probably the lid switch gone bad. Easy fix once you get the replacement part. Basically the lid switch is a safety device that keeps the tub from spinning and you being able to lift the lid and stick your hand into the spinning tub.
