    Child support
I live in Alabama. My ex husband and his wife filed taxes together this year. He owed back child support for my son so they took it out. I go through my local DHR. And going through it, it shows that their was an amout paid in March or April and that it could take up to 6 months before my son receives it. Then I learned that his wife has filed again to get her part out of the taxes. How long are we looking at now before my son receives his support?

6 months from April is October - so it could be a few more months. I have found the IRS to push their limits on estimates too... so probably 6 months to the day (from when it was processed, not filed... which could easily be May or June)

It could be a while yet. And if his wife filed a damaged spouce form then you would not receive her part of the tax return. You're dealing with the IRS... they do things on their time.
