    Wondering about kegel excercises
I recently came onto this website for advice and someone mentioned to me trying kegel excercises. I've tried doing them and find the process kind of frustrating. I know I'm suppose to have patience but I'm having a hard time. I know this is probably a great solution to my problems, cause I remember being able to control myself better during sex when I was younger. I remember being able to stop myself from ejaculating the same way you would hold back urine. But, for some reason I've seem to forgot how to do so.
It's a really embrassing problem to have and been in a serious relationship, one that is extremely stressful. Is there anyone who's been those something similar to this that has any kind of advice for me? I'd appreciate it greatly.

As males age, muscle tone becomes harder to maintain. It's not just lack of use, it actually takes more work to achieve the same results. I'm in my 50's and the gut is winning now. The pelvic floor muscles are muscles just like the abs.

Keep at it. A little benzocaine cream inside your condom might be of some temporary help but it cuts way back on the sensation.

I did not realize how young you are, Cakajaka. The benzocaine cream might be the way to go for you.

I was also wondering something. I saw somewhere that it's easier to start doing kegel exercises either sitting or laying down. Is there any truth to that?

I can't say for sure for a guy weather standing up or laying down is better. Sorry. I'm a girl :)

But I do know that an excellent practice for this is to simply do it all day. First in the morning when you get up to go to the bathroom, start and stop your urine to get the feel of it and get the muscles warmed up. Then continue to 'flex' and use those muscles through out the day, standing sitting laying all the time.

    Good luck hon

I just read somewhere that your PC muscles help with the firmness of your penis. Is that true? Also I'm still having a hard time with these excercises, is that normal?

That's perfectly normal. Like Jennie said, start in the morning when you have something visible to measure with, i.e. the flow of urine.

As far as firmness, increased muscle tone and awareness of the entire area can't but help.

That is the best way to start if those muscles are really out of shape. Try lying down on the floor with your feet up on the couch, watching the news upside-down. If nothing else, it's fun!

I was reading a different thread on this site where someone got the advice to read a book called ' the multi-orgasmic man ' by mantak chai. I was wondering if a book such as this one would be beneificial to me & my problem?
