    TV show late 90s (I think)
    OK what I remember is this , people were on a planet (maybe earth) and it seemed that there weren't many of them and there was some other hostile race that if I recall looked kind of like cavemen (may be making that part up ,not sure) . A part I am sure of is they had jem's implanted in there hands and could only mate with people of the same color jem to insure reproduction compatibility . Another tid bit I recall is that there was a character that was a half breed of human and the other race and a doctor is taking his temperature and asks him if its normal for him to be running so high a temp and I think he lies and says yes. I think it takes place in a walled in city and people that live outside it are rare due to (poison or the other races attack or maybe even propaganda not sure). PLEASE someone know this . It may have in fact been a movie or mini series but felt like an epic show.

    It was a TV movie that was meant to be the pilot for a series--but the network decided to pass. Happens a lot. Good example is the recent TV movie Virtuality. A series was supposed to follow, but now all we'll ever have is the movie itself.
