    House Deed Legal Issue
My sister bought a house in Florida with her boyfriend; they are not married. From what I understand, she paid for most of the house, everything in it, and is making payments on the house. He ended up lying around bumming off my sister.

They broke up and he said he would sign the house over to her. Then he said he would not sign the house over until he got money back his grandmother gave him to help pay for the house (I don't know how much he got, but I don't think it was a lot).

He also keeps coming to the house to take care of his pet cat, but it he enters forcefully.

Obviously my sister needs legal aid, but what I would like to know is can she get a restraining order against him although his name is also on the deed? Can she have his name taken off the deed if she has documentation that proves she paid for most of the house?

My sister also received some money from my mother along with a letter specifying it was for the house to help pay for it.

I appreciate any advise offered on this topic.

    Thank you

Not unless there is fear of violence.

She needs to buy him out for the amount he put in. And, even then, she would probably need to refinance the mortgage in her name only.

Thank you both for your answers. Both of them were useful. She has hired a lawyer, so hopefully he is a good one and will be able to help her out of this.
