Can I collect renunciations from sibs and take them to notary?
I have to probate my Mom's estate. There are six sibs and no one wants to be bothered. The county told me to have them fill out renunciations and bring with me notarized forms. Some of us are in different states. My bro in FLA says "just sign my name" My bro in NY is very busy. Can I send them the forms to sign and take them to the notary myself or must we each sign in front of a notary? I am just trying to deal with the mortgage co. House is close to foreclosure - a real estate agent said he could do a quick sale for almost what is owed on it and not charge me anything - and as administrator, I could then deal with the mortgage co.
It's my own fault I am now working under the gun. The chances of us all getting to a notary swiftly are dim. I am willing to do all the running involved.
Any advice in general and specifically about the notary would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks to all.

You cannot sign for them and you cannot have them sign and take it to the notary yourself. The idea behind a notarized document is someone witnessing the actual person signing themselves.

They will need to go to a notary (found at most banks) and have the documents notorized as they are signed.
