    You do not get a divorce by "publication" you use publication as a method of service to notify them of the case.

    It is the most expensive method.

    You will have to do all of the required searches for the ex and prove to the court, you attempted to find them.
    After that point you have to post according to court rules in the paper approved by the court, notice of the up coming divorce hearing. You will go to court and prove your case then.
