Trying to find manual for Bryant 394GAD024050
I am trying to find the manual for this unit. I line in an apartment and maintenance states that they do not have the manuals anymore. The documentation on this unit states it wa smanufactured in 1983. I wnet to the Bryant webite and when I input the first five of the model number, I got a no documentation message.
My biggest question is what size filter should this unit have installed, is there is a permananet fliter that I can purchase and to have the manual on hand in case of emergency.
Our maintenance crew is installing the 30 day, blue see through filters 14x25x1. They states they only have to do this 2 times a year. My place is covered in dust and I buy the same size filter, but Filtrete or something similar that supposed to last for up to 90 days. The last time I changed the filter, it seemed as if there was a larger gap between the size of the opening where the filter should cover and what the filter actually DID cover.
Also in this unit, should there be some sort of apparatus to hold the filter in place?
Thank you in advance for any advised or links of how to get to the guide.

90 day filters say up o ninety days... they really need to be changed every 30 days. The blue filters can be changed every 6 months because they do not collect anything but rocks and big debris. Filters may say they are a certain size but most are off a fraction or so. Just get the size you use, change more frequently. Also do not buy the $20 filters. They will kill your system. Homedepot has 3 packs for like $7.
Also being how old the unit is I doubt you will find any kind of paperwork.

HVAC1000: The link sent in reply to this message did give me the information that I needed. This furnace came with a washable filter, only available through the manufacturer of the furnace. That explains why the filters that the rental company put in twice yearly are the wrong size. There is supposed to be a custom sized filter. I feel better now. I will make the necessary accomdations to ensure that all air is being filter before it comes into the unit, if I cannot find a Carrier/Bryant dealer who can get me the right model. The manual did not include a filter model number, but I will perservere. I HATE dust!

Siberianair: I check my filter often, changing it when it is dirty, not because the calendar says it has been 90 days. I know that if I am using a higher rated filter, it will collect more dirt and dust and lower the air flow to the unit, thus causing problems.

To both of you, thank you for taking the time to reply!

Why don't you try to give these guys a call:

    Genuine Bryant & Carrier filters.

I probably could get the number and possibly the parts list, but they may not like it if I didn't buy one.
