Break in drain pipe in cement

I have a kitchen drain in which the pipe is embedded in cement. It broke off right at the top of the cement, which is 3 feet thick. I need to connect the drain pipe to it. What should I use. I have tried epoxy and it did not adhere to the cement.
Terra cotta pipe and cement

Are you able to patch a Terra Cotta pipe that has a crack in it, with cement to keep water from leaking out of it? Will cement adhere to terra cotta?
