    How too
My dad recently died and mom can't find the papers on the new yardman riding mower. I am 56 and my mom is 76 and she thinks I can't mow her lawn for her because I don't have papers on the mover. If I try to start it and it doesn't start she will freak out. Is there anything different about starting a yardman than any other riding mower?

I can understand her attitude and feelings regarding the lawn mower, it was probaby your dad's baby, right ? She still feels an attachment, all that she has left of something your dad really enjoyed and she doesn't want any harm to come to it.

You understand her feelings too, otherwise you wouldn't be here asking.

There is a website you can access with Yardman manuals available, here it is.
    Lawnandgarden.manualsonline.com

    Be patient with her.

    Hi,
Well, I am a bit in the dark since you gave no model number for reference,; but no, it starts pretty much like any other rider.
Before: always check oil level and fuel.
Then: put in neutral, make sure deck is off, throttle up, choke, push in clutch/brake and turn the key while being prepared to turn off choke. Allow to warm before engaging deck; you can drive it onto the yard while this happens.
    Peace,
    Clarke
PS I am older than you, I mow my parents, I fix them and I answer here.
Additional: that site mentioned starts at http://owneriq.net/ choose Lawn & Garden, Yardman, Lawnmower and model.
