Hi, my old garbage food disposal got broken and I bought a new one(slightly larger than old one so I had to re-design the pipe thing a bit and put it in. However there are some problems for the draining- I attached the pic,

,it is similar to the old way, but since the new disposal is larger, I had to make the pipe to go to the side (also tried a similar way as sink side, doesn't work too).

So the problem I got is: the drain in the sink is extreme slow after the first use. If I put a bit more water in the sink side, it comes back from the disposal side, which looks like the vertical pipe inside the wall got clogged. However, I already cleaned up all pipes under the sink, also snake into that vertical pipe till about 6/7 meters below and it looks fine to me. Also if I turned on the disposal, water will also come up from the sink side. I felt like it is more related to the pipe position due to some water pressure problem. Can someone give me a suggestion? Thanks a lot!!

What "vertical pipe" are you referring to? Are you referring to the roof vent? I see a clean out for the lateral drain in the wall. Did you open it up and snake from there? If so you only had to put out 6 feet of snake.

tells me that the blockage is on down the line. Start snaking the clean out and if that don't fix things snake from the kitchen roof vent. Put out enough snake to reach the base and 20 feet more. Good luck, tom

The new disposal would have nothing to do with the slow draining sink. Resnake the line. The partial blockage will be some distance from the sink. How do I know? Because it takes the first drain to fill up the pipe.

Loose the flex pipe in the disposal drain. Probably kincked and restricting flow.

Put a threaded female adapter on the disposal line trap adapter. Next, put on a street 45 ell, pointed toward the side of the cabinet (behind the disposal). Add a short length of 1 1/2" PVC and a trap adapter. Rotate the disposal 160-180 degrees counter clockwise. Connect with a tube trap like the one on the sink side.

You may be able to find a threaded female 45 to screw on the trap adapter. That would save you some space.

And it sure is nice to have pics to see what you are talking about.

Yes, that is where I open it and snake from. I indeed snake more than 6 feet, prob around 12~15 feet down.

So there is nothing wrong with pipe position under the disposal? Maybe the clog is just too deep as both of you guys mentioned. I just need to rent a commercial one.

Yeah, get it done... rent a 50ft electronic snakes and it works like a champs. 2 hours' stink work though.:)

Also: That flexible tail-piece that connects GD trap and drain is wrong. Replace it with rigid piece - just like the other side.
