    ford 6.4 twin turbo lifespan
hello everyone I just purchased a 2008 ford f-350 4x4 crew cab with 58,000 miles highway driven, no gooseneck hitch, never been off-road, the engine looks like a showroom truck and all the maintenance has been kept up. My question is , if I maintain the truck routinley, how many more miles will the engine hold up. 6.4 twin turbo diesel

    thanks!!

Engine? Seems that people believe 250K to 350K before a major overhaul is about right on today's diesels. That is down about 100K due mainly to the soot now being introduced into the intake systems in the name of cleaner air.

450,000 to 500,000 miles, if you use a top-quality full-synthetic diesel HDEO, install a by-pass oil filter, and perform regular used oil analysis (UOA), the way you should:

This assumes you properly maintain the cooling system and follow Ford's regular preventive maintenance program.
