That's not a prescription. Do you mean it's -8.00 or 20/400? Which eye, is there an astigmatism? Do you have your prescription handy?

If it's either of the above you're considered legally blind.

Well, for sure -8.00. The optometrist said something about 400, but I guess I misheard her and put them together!

My dad was legally blind before he got Lasik.

On my contacts, my left eye is -6.00, and on my right it's -6.50.

But my glasses are stronger, but I can't quite remember the prescription. But when I got my eyes checked Tuesday, she definitely said -8 something something.

Legally blind doesn't mean you're like people who are born blind, as in we see darkness and whatnot.

It just means you're very, very nearsighted... not sure about farsighted.
I can see because I wear very strong prescription contacts and glasses. Without them, people have no hair, facial features, are adrogenous, and letters are nonexistent! :O

They were corrective lenses, be it contacts glasses or having laser eye surgery.
