    The United States emitted 19.5 million t of nitrogen oxides into the atmosphere in 1987. One metric ton equals 1,000 kg. How many kilograms of NO were emitted of CO were emitted to the atmosphere in the United States during 1987?

    look online for unit conversions
    put 19.5 million tons over 1 and muliply it by 1000 kg over 1 metric ton

    like this

    19.5million tons/1 X 1000 kg/1 ton
    the tons cancel out so u get 19.5 X 1000 which is your answer
