I don't see anything wrong in your discission.

If you feel like your ready to live on your own, then I think its very independent of you, and very responsible. I Think your mom should be very proud that your making such a grown choice.

Im only 16 and Im looking for a job, and already trying to figure out how I'm going to get my own apartment too. The only worries I have Is My father getting lonely in the house, but... You can't stay there forever. Got to move on to better and bigger things.

Wish the best of luck to you. =]

You would have to go in front of a Judge and have your mom sign for you to be emancipated. You would have to prove to the Judge that you have a job and enough income to support yourself living alone.

    Had to spread the rep.
But, yes, I agree with that. I'm not sure in Minnesota, but I know that that is how the law is here, and I couldn't find anything on a difference.

However, Khalia, I would like to tell you that it is not a wise decision.
I tried the same thing when I was your age. It didn't work out so well. First off, do you even realize how expensive that would be? Just enough to pay rent, electricity (since obviously you use the internet), and food, you wouldn't be able to realistically support yourself and maintain your school life.

A roommate? Forget about it. If you aren't mature enough to deal with your own mother at this time in your teenager-angst, just about anyone you try to live with you will have worse problems with.

Trust me, I know from experience, it will not work, or if you barely scratch by making it work, you will be miserable.
