    Ingrown bumps
I need help. I get reoccurring ingrown hair bumps under my arm. I had to have surgery before because it got the size of a nickel and it was fine, but after awhile it keeps reoccurring and healing repeatedly. The last time I went to the doctor she told me it was from ingrown hair, hair growing then going back into the skin causing bumps in my armpits. The doctor told me to exfoliate and keep hair off as often as I can. It keeps coming back, she told me the name of it, it was a long word, but I can't remember. My question is what can I do to prevent these hair bumps from reoccurring. I can't wear sleeveless shirts, swimsuits, she also said that it's a myth that these particular bumps was signs of diabetes. Please help me.

So you keep getting ingrown hairs in your armpits?

Instead of shaving try waxing or using Nair.

I would also suggest getting a good moisturizing deodorant.

You could look into laser hair removal, will get rid of the hair permanently but it can be a bit expensive.
Otherside waxing or nair like muddy said are good alternatives.

I'd go with laser hair removal too. Nice one shaz! The hair won't grow back like it would even if you wax. If that's not an option the exfoliation is important because it helps the hair work its way out of the pore, you need to do this daily even if you are waxing just to help the pores. Talk to your doctor and see if you are a candidate for laser hair removal because of this. And make it very clear that it bothers you to the extent that it does so that they understand. I get these once in a while and they drive me CRAZY! I just quit shaving because I got tired of dealing with it. But I don't mind the weird looks I get, I'm pretty bohemian so hairy pits is one of those things I just laugh about when people call me a mountain man. I do keep it trimmed though, I don't want to look like an actual caveman, or my husband. :D

If you are going to try the wax way, DON'T due your armpits yourself. Other parts of your body is OK for self waxing, but I tried the armpit once and almost decided to leave the wax on for life.
