    Credit/frozen bank account
    I am currently disabled and collecting SSI. What I get from SSI does not cover my living expenses, therefore my parents help when they can. Unfortunately, I have not been able to pay my credit cards and the balance kept growing. I stopped paying one of the cards when I couldn't even pay the minimum. The credit card company got a judgement and have now frozen my checking account. Where do I go from here? I am very overwhelmed!!

    If they have a Judgment they are able to collect from you by any means possible - and that includes garnishing wages, freezing bank accounts (depending on the State).

    You are in a very unfortunate position right now (like a lot of other people) and they will pursue the Judgment until it is paid.

    You will have to go to court and prove the funds in your checking account is from ssi and is therefore exempt any funds you get from your parents should not be deposited in to that account but like Judy said they will use any means possible to collect and will continue to hound you. I think a lot of people are in the same boat right now
