    Given that you have asked this question in Science-Physics category, I am assuming you are asking about Blind spot or in our retina?

    There is blind spot in the vision called scotoma. It is caused by lack of light capturing cells near optical nerve in the retina.

    It is a spot deviod of photoreceptors(rods and cones).It is this point where the optic nerves exit the eye and moves towards the brain.

    The blind spot is not near the optic nerve in the retina. It is the exact place where there are the optic nerves. :rolleyes:
