I hate tans.
Okay, so, I went to Canada's wonderland yesterday, and it was like a sauan. I got really tanned. And I HATE tans, they disgust me. It's not because I'm afraid of getting skin cancer, I just strongly disagree with the sun. I was a really nice colour before yesterday, really nice, and pale, like cream or whatever you want to call it. My whole family is tanned, that's just how they are, but it's not for me. So, that being said,
Is there anything I can make up, that will make my tan fade back in like, 2-3 weeks, and what SPf should I be using to keep white?
And, how do goths not get tanned, they always wear black, and it's always confused my brain, because black attracts the sun.
I found a website, but I didn't want to do them, and have them not work.

I think goths only go out at night.
NEVER the beach or where it is too sunny.
I think you have to wait it out to fade because I don't think skin lighteners work for tans.
I think 15 is the highest and you have to reapply it every hour

You can buy a higher spf sunscreen on the internet. I'm not sure if it will stop you from tanning but you won't get burned.

You're just going to have to wait for it to fade. Considering I'm like a jelly fish, I use at least a 45 SPF. I also don't spend more than 30 minutes in direct sunlight (because I burn like a biscuit!).
But there's no magical way to make a tan go away. I hope you learned your lesson! ;)

First off, exactly WHY don't you like tans?
I once knew a girl that was so completely racist that when she fell asleep in the sun, and got really tan, she tried to kill herself!
Anyway, you just have to wait it out.
You can use makeup to cover it up, but that would be a big waste of a lot of perfectly good makeup to cover that up for so long.
The highest I've ever seen is SPF 60, but that doesn't matter. There is "suntan lotion" that helps get a tan, and you can also find "tan resistant lotion" (or something like that).
I haven't seen it in years, but I know it used to be around.
PS: As to why goths don't get tanned. Sure, they wear black clothes, and black attracts sunlight (to put it simply), you don't get tanned through your CLOTHES, plain and simple... you just get heatstroke, xD

I know this is off topic but did you go on the vertical bungee jump in Canada's Wonderland. I went last year-- it was AMAZING!

Hope this isn't too off topic but I heard that something like 20 or 30 spf is really the highest it goes and from there up is marketing and it doesn't truly get any stronger? Anyone know anything about that, while we're on the topic?
I don't really like tans either, but that's because I don't like tan lines. So if I'm going to be out in the sun I put on lots of suncreen, go for the shade when I can, and since I really don't like my face to tan (then I have to change foundation colors lol) I wear a hat too.

I am so pale you can see my veins through my skin. I think it's gross, but I am secretly a punk-goth so it fits the massive amounts of eyeliner I guess. Hehe.
My sister uses a spf 90. I firmly believe in sunscreen for light skinned people or fair skinned if you burn easily anything over 45. But regular people can do okay with a 15, you can get that in a moisturizer.
As for if it works or not, it does, but you have to reapply it every 30 minutes or it's pointless. I called and asked the clear skinned sister. She fell asleep one year when we were at the beach and in less than an hour got 2nd degree burns. Uncool.
As for lightening your skin. I've never heard of this. Your skin gets darker because of melanin. (welcome to my very favorite subject EVER, I have no clue why) Actually a freckle is just a keratin cell that is rich with melanin. Basically harmless in small doses.
Your skin will typically fade in time back to its original pigment. But for now, welcome to having tanned skin. A little vitamin D is a good thing for your body. It's a hard vitamin to absorb naturally, and you just did so. *applauds*
I know, I'm a geek. But seriously. Melanin fascinates me...

Thanks everyone XD.
And I'm not racist, I just don't like tans on me. I enjoy being pale skinnned... well I enjoyed being pale skinned. Because now I'm tanned, and where can you get the spf 80/90, wal-mart do yahh thinkk?
And no, I didn't, lol I was brok, it's like 50 smackers a person. But I did go on the behemoth, it's not all it's cracked up to be.
And yeahh, I guess that makes sense... for the goth people.. but still.
Lol, okayy, yeahh no applauds necessary... and yeahh I know. But still, who needs it?
Thanks all XD

Well, I don't know about the eighty and nintey, but I burn using 30, and don't using 45, so make your own analysis.

Chey, actually there are many products on the market for lightening skin. Although, I don't think it'd work in this situation for a tan but those products do exist. You can find some at your local pharmacies or stores like Wal-Mart/Target. Some can be ordered online, or through cosmetics/beauty boutiques, etc.
There's a whole board on this site devoted to Skin Lightening questions. There's even a Skin Lightening Expert here.

Yes, it's actually called Skin Lightening and it gets a LOT of activity.
But the stuff found in your regular stores is pretty gentle and the key ingredient is hydroquinone. Google it. Have fun! :)

Dude! I looked it up! It's fascinating, it's like the opposite of the crazy people who tan their skin to leather. I think I am about to get a little OCD about this. Yay for learning!

Just an extra tidbit, dark clothing has been prooven to protect you from the suns UV rays better than light clothing. This is why desert nomads wear black from head to toe.
You know :D just a little tid bit of information :)

Just a tid-tidbit. They wear DARK clothes to protect from UV radiation. They wear it from head-to-toe to protect from sand-blaster-like-winds, which blow constantly in some deserts. (The Sahara, for one)
Bottom line, dark clothes, although hot, protect you from sunburns and tans.
Keep that in mind next time you step outside.

No one mentioned zinc oxide paste, which lasts about 3 hours and blocks ALL of the sun's rays. You may have seen lifeguards wearing it on their nose.
