    Can a credit card company garnish wages Arizona
    Can a credit card company that has turned your account over to a lawyer garnish your wages in Arizona, still working but husbands business went under and our income has been drastically reduced.

    They can if they get a judgment to that effect. And they probably will if Arizona law allows it. Do you or did you have a court date? Have you tried negotiating a settlement with the lawyer, one that can fit your budget under the circumstances? That may be your best bet for keeping it out of court and preventing a garnishment.

    Yes, Arizona allows it. Here is the information - note that it is not NECESSARY to get a Judgment first but the garnishment procedure without a Judgment is extremely time consuming and cumbersome.

    But it figures I finally find a real, semi-legal quiestion that I CAN answer, and you guys beat me to the punch :P

    Yes they can. I live in phoenix and my husbads wages are currently being garnished from a credit card he had before he was married to me. (I personally think credit cards are evil and will never have one ;) )
