Do I become a citizen if my newborned baby is american?
Hello I'm new to the site. My question is: I have been a legal resident for over 15 years I was suppose to fill out my citizenship to become a citizen a long time ago but it never happened. I'm also now a new mother with a 2 months old baby

My question is: DO I become a citizen because of my newborn american baby or do I still have to do the paper work. or how does it work?

    Thank you;)

No, you do not automatically become a citizen because of your child. My cousin (she married into the family) married my cousin, had a baby with him and still had to go through more paperwork. I don't know the details of what you have to do from here but if you need to know hopefully one of our experts will come along to answer that part.

No. You must apply for citizenship through naturalization on form N-400. Apply now, very important for your long-term immigration status. The USCIS is caught up and working on cases very quickly, now at 3-5 months for some.

No, fill out the paper work and get your citizenship.
