    Drain in Basement
I have a drain in the basement and was wondering where the water goes? I was going to use a dehumidifier and use this for the drain. Is this a good idea?

If you're speaking of a drain in the floor, then that drain goes underground to a main drain - probably the city.

Yes, that's the perfect place to drain a dehumidifier. ;)

If you've never used it before, it's a good idea to shine a flashlight down there first to be sure nothing is down there to obstruct it... and even dump a few 5 gallon buckets of water down it to be sure it's draining well.
