    Hydrocone/Lortab usage
I am 3 weeks post-op from a Hemorrhoidectomy and was prescribed Lortab 7.5. I only used it for the first week. It takes away the pain within 30 minutes, but I cannot sleep when using it. I was also prescribed Valium for sleep, but hesitate to take both. My bowels are working fine, but this evening I did have some bleeding and a lot of pain with just plain urination. I took 1 Lortab 7.5 at 11:55 and am still awake at 7:16 am. Pain is gone, but why can't I sleep?

I don't know WHY, but I can tell you it happens to a lot of people. Talk to your doctor about it.

I heard that THAT procedure is one of the most painful, so GOD bless you, and call your doctor about your situation. Some people simply cannot take hydrocodone.

Thank you so much for your reply. I should have done it 25 years ago (I'm 45), but it was nowhere near as bad as I thought it would be, given today's technology. Thank you so much.
