    Removing Top Layer of Paint
I have my grandmothers' old painted "hoosier" style cabinet. It originally was painted white with a red and black design on the doors. It was repainted all white many years ago. I would like to try to remove only the top coat of paint so that I can see exactly what the original painted design looked like so I can restore it to it's original look. Is there a way to remove only the last coat of paint? Thank you.

Only by carefully sanding through each layer of paint.
