    Holiday abroad
    Hi my daughter came out of prison in December 2008 she was convicted of possession of a class b drug dwelling burglery and theft we are hoping to go on holiday abroad in 2010 and she would like to know if she can go abroad and if so what countries she is able to visit

    IF she isn't on parole or probation, she can go. Getting a passport won't be a problem either..

    But, there's a lot of countries out there. I've never seen a list of which ones would deny her entry and which ones wouldn't. And, if I did, I'll bet it changes every day too.

    It's my PERSONAL viewpoint that the only countries that MAY deny her entry would be the Western ones. They're the only ones with a relationship with our security forces, so I'd bet they would be the only ones who would have access to her criminal record..

    Having said that, I recently came back from Europe and nobody said anything to me.

    So, if it were me, I'd just go and give yourself some flexibility in your plans. The worst that would happen is you'll be turned away at an airport. Certainly you're not going to be able to pre-arrange entry into any country that doesn't want her. And writing to all of them that you wish to visit, only puts them on notice to watch out for her.
