    difference linear and quadratic equation?
    I need a help in this question

    Explain the difference between linear and quadratic equation?:confused:

    A linear equation has as highest power of x, 1. A quadratic equation has an x of power 2.

    A linear equation is a straight line, whereas a quadratic equation is a curve.

    A linear equation has a fixed gradient but a quadratic equation has a gradient which keeps on changing.

    A linear equation has no turning (or stationary or maximum or minimum) but a quadratic equation has.

    EDIT: Of course, all these are true provided the equations are on the same axis, and they are no modulus functions.

    This very much depends on the axes of the graph o_O
    If one axis is x^2 and one is just x, then a quadratic graph will be straight... Sorry to be penickity!
