    Do goats sleep?
I am an old Veit-Nam Vet with PTSD and I have started raising goats as a way to relieve stress. I would like to know if goats sleep, The Lord knows I don't !
Every time I go out to check on them , no mater what hour , they are up and eating or lying down chewing on something.

Rex, of course they sleep. They just don't do it when you're watching. No, seriously, they do sleep but they sleep not all at once like a human does. Your goats are probably light sleepers and hear you coming so you naturally would think they don't sleep! They are like dogs. Dogs sleep but the second they hear you coming they open their eyes and act like they've been awake all the time. Most hoofed animals like horses, goats, etc are light sleepers. It's a way of watching or listening for predators.

Anybody know about goats? [ 1 Answers ]

I am very concerned about my goat. After being pregnant at least two weeks longer than the normal gestation period, she finally delivered one live baby and one long-dead baby this morning. She'd gotten absolutely huge. Massive. I'm pretty sure she has an infection, but there are no vets out here...
