    Lawn Mower
My lawn mower red button that you have to push 3 times to get the mower to start busted. Can I fix this myself? Can I buy a new red button and install it myself? Is it repairable? Please help?

I'm thinking your red button is the primer bulb.

    Yes, I'll try my best.

    Is your mower a craftsman?
Do you still have the Owners Manual?

If you do, the Model number to your mower is on the front page of the manual.
Look through the manual there should be a schematic page listing all the parts to your mower.
Find the button's number on the drawing an reference to its actual part number, in the list below...
Hang on to the mower and button numbers.

If not then its on the handle or deck.
If you have it post it here, so I can look it up.
Can you post pix of mower?

Do you have a sears nearby?
Take those two numbers an call the store, they should carry them or order one in for you.

If that's going to take too long, ask the clerk for the local sears service center number.
If its not too far you could go an pick it up.
    Price should be under $5

In lieu of that a good lawn and garden shop should also carry them.
I hope you won't mind, but your replacement might not be red, it could be white, black or clear, even from sears.

Once you have the replacement, you'll need tools to remove the fasteners from the mower hood, long thin screwdrivers, and a couple of long needle nose pliers.

Let's hold off there for now until you get the mower number and part.
