To jump higher, you would need to strengthen your legs (calves to be specific). A way you can do that is by doing heelraises and sprinting. I can't guarantee that it will raise your verical by 10 inches right away but I do it and it works for me. My vertical is about 27 in.
And also, you would have to do it all the time (everyday) just to work your calve muscles. And you'll get it :)
