Outlook express not working (common issue)
I've had this problem before, and was told it was a common problem. I can't for the life of me remember how to FIX it however.
I am trying to set up my Yahoo email, with Outlook Express.
I followed all the instructions here..
POP Yahoo! Mail Plus with Microsoft Outlook Express
However, when I try to do ANYTHING, a window pops up asking for my account and password. And I put it in, and it just pops back up again :rolleyes::rolleyes:
So yeah... remind me how to get this to work?

yeah I tried that too. It was the same except the last step about clicking the box for 'leave a copy of messages on server'
its still doing it. Here is a copy of what it is telling me...
There was a problem logging onto your mail server. Your Password was rejected. Account: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Server: 'plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '-ERR [AUTH] invalid user/password', Port: 995, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800CCC92
and that's not true becaues it's the right pword. I even went and changed the pword, and tried again.
grr. I might as well just NOT use outlook express LOL

When I was having issue with Yahoo before, it was this page
Port Number Settings for Yahoo! Mail
-both boxes checked
-outgoing mail SMPT: 465
-Incoming mail POP3: 995
Make sure you have this option checked for Outgoing Mail Server:
The box next to My Server Requires Authentication.
Try that, will have to check back a little later, hope something here may help

I might have found the answer though I'm going to keep looking.
I found an answer on Yahoo from last year about this problem, and the reply was saying to go into Yahoo mail, and go to options, and go to the 'pop and forwarding' and check the box that allows it. This fixed the issue for the person asking the question last year.
However, this year, Yahoo is now CHARGING for you to use this feature. Grr. I'm still looking for a way around it :P
