Loss mom fathers rights
Hi, I lost my parental rights 11yrs ago. I was told that I can not get my rights reinstated once my rights are terminated. Well by the grace and mercy of god recently I ran into an old friend that has a daughter by my daughters dad brother and I told her that I had a daughter by her brother in law well my daughters dad ended up calling me and I let him know for the first time that I had a daughter by him and had loss my parental rights he wants to try to find out where she is and see what he can do to get her. My question is what kind of Possibility does he have. I lost my rights but he didn't loss his because we split up and I never told him I was pregnant and didn't even know. Is there hope for at least him being able to get our daughter. I would love too also but I don't know what to do or to believe anymore please help (loss mom) Thanks

How old would your daughter be now?
If he finds her and she is adopted to another family then he wouldn't be able to get her, but he may be able to get rights to see her.
Realize too that when she turns 18 she can do whatever she wants. Sio she could even look you and or him up and try to build a relationship or she might not.

Even if his rights were NOT terminated at the same time---what do you hope to accomplish here?
After 11 years, your daughter has been with a family for most of her life at this point--do you want to rip her away from people who love her?
Your ex needs a lawyer. YOU need nothing--you lost your rights, and you cannot get them back.

You wouldn't. You lost legal rights, you might as well be a stranger, and strangers are not privy to information on minors.

We need more information than this hon... what do you mean? Do you mean, your child was taken away from you and you want to find out if the state had adopted them out?

When your child was taken from you, why did that happen? Weren't you asked to name the father at that point?

As scott pointed out it is much easier if you just continue the thread that you already started rather than starting new ones so please just answer on this one. Why was your child taken from you? Did you want to place her for adoption? It is true that once you loose your rights you are not a parent any more therefore you are not privy to information concerning the child.
