    Out of state custody battle
    The custodial parent lives in Arizona, the father in Hawaii. Circumstances dictate that the 16 year old boy would be better raised by his father at this time. How does the father go about gaining custody?

    He hires a lawyer. The lawyer will arrange to initiate a change of custody. I would assume that the hearing would have to be where the kid now lives.
