Still no period/could blood test be wrong?
I posted a thread awhile back titled "7 days late, light period, am i pregnant" - but was wondering about some things still?? I went to the doctor 2 weeks ago & a blood test showed NEG (which would have been exactly 4 weeks from the time I had actually had sex) - also had taken 3 HPTs previous to going to doctor that were NEG- so, now it would be 6 weeks since having unprotected sex & today I am due to get my period... but still NOTHING - My only concern is that I am still nauseated (dry heaved this morning), can't sleep at night for the past 3 weeks (and I am NOT stressed... honestly), lower back pain/lightly crampiness, & the past week sore boobs, plus my belly feels BLOATED 100% of the day - even when I wake up, which is weird. I work out all the time! Either I am going to have a MAJOR period OR can my hormones be that messed up?? That I would have these symptoms?? You don't think I could be pregnant & not have it show on the BLOOD test?? My doctor gave me meds to send me into my period but it freaked me out so I haven't taken it. This is so bizarre because previous to this I was like clock-work w/ my period. I am 26 been of BC pills for 2 years!

Something is definitely making you ill, and I would go back to a different physician to find out what.
You mention that you work out all the time as well, is your body weight low? Sometimes missed or absent periods can occur when you have low body weight or mass.
It could be hormonal, you could be pregnant, it could be your body weight, or it could be something more serious, however the only way to know for sure is to be checked out by a good OBGYN. Either way, I would want to know what the cause is, if it is serious, and if it can be treated.

I work out about 5x/week but am just average - & have consistently been wking out for a long time - nothing new! If anything I feel like I am gaining weight?? It's just bizarre! For a while I wasn't hungry at all - now I can eat everything in sight... But I didn't want to take that med to send me into my period in case I ended up pregnant... So, do you think I should go back to my doctor (or another one) if I don't get my period this week? What about an ultra sound? Do you think my hormones being "off" could make me feel like this? (I mean obviously they are OFF if I only got my period last mnth for 1-1/2 days & was a week late) - I just can't figure this out... sorry about all the questions...

Like mentioned, it could be anything. I would encourage you to go to an ob-gyn, and if the one you have isn't truly listening, go to a drifferent one. I'm not sure I would want my period back "on track" unless I knew the reason it was "off track". An ultrasound might help, depends on what the doc thinks. This could be anything from bad diet to thyroid, to something more serious. I do know one thing though---it's not "nothing". There is a reason for the symptoms you are having, it's up to a good ob-gyn to find out what that reason is.

THANK YOU! Yeah, I'm going to make a call today - I went to an GYNO but he wasn't an OB - he said if I was pregnant he'd have to send me to someone else... At this point, it's the uncertainty that bothers me - I'd rather know what is going on w/ my body & deal with it!

Depending on your hormonal levels, the HCG in your system may still be a little too low to show up on a test. It also depends on which blood test was used. A quantitative blood test is more dependable because it detects the quantity of HCG, whereas a qualitative blood test just gives you a positive or a negative.
Also, when using HPTs, remember to use first morning urine as it is more concentrated and gives a more accurate result.

Just don't take no for an answer when it comes to your health---insist that a doc finds out what is wrong with you if you don't feel right. On the other end, it is your job to be perfectly honest with your physician, they don't have a crystal ball into your past or family history. Don't leave things out.

Yeah all the paper said that the RN gave back to me was NEGATIVE on the blood - & during the test the doctor was like pushing on my uterus & goes "this feels like early pregnancy" - what does that mean?? I guess you just assume that because they are professional that they are right! I'm definitely going to get a 2nd opinion. So my HCG level could STILL be low??

I'm 5 days late and I had a blood test yesterday to see if I'm pregnant. They said the test was negative and I was wondering what the chances where that it was wrong? I just haven't ever been this late before and I'm trying to get pregnant.
