Just had plumber install a Burcam tankless water booster. It apparently blew out several water lines and caused the water heater to leak and had to replace the water heater. I was reassured that this was an easy booster to install and nothing else was needed, so the plumber hooked it up and now I have a huge mess. Does anyone out there know anything about these Burcam boosters? We have spring gravity flow water. Thanks!

Sounds like I know as much as your plumber does... and that's very little.

I hope someone backs me up, but I think that you need a pressure reducing valve and an expansion tank. First, you need to measure the water pressure. SHould be about 50 PSI. You can get a gauge that fits on a hose bib.

Can you post a pic of the setup? You can use Go Advanced and manage attachments to post a pic.

Thank you for your reply. I can try and a picture. There is a picture of the thing on eBay which is where I bought it. It is a Burcam Model 506532SS. See, were told that we needed those things by a local hardware store but this man that sells them assured me that we needed nothing other than maybe some fittings if they were the wrong size.

Did the unit come with installation instructions?

No instructions, send it back.

I agree with KISS, need a pressure reducing valve.

You can find the link of the pump and it contains a PRV. It's probably set too high. I'd get instructions from them.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Right now we are just replacing the water heater and hoping that there aren't too many lines blown. All great suggestions and I truly appreciate it.
