    Postpartum swelling
Hi, I have had a baby in April and I started swelling from December. Even after delivery, it didn't go away especially on feet and legs. I went to the Doctor and he prescribed Banophen (Anti-Histamine)... I am a nursing mom.. is it OK to use it when breastfeeding? Help

I don't have any personal experience but did take a course because we sometimes have to care for nursing mothers with disabilities. The only very low downside of taking antihistamines while nursing is a reduction in breast milk supply. Drink plenty of water to compensate. The amount (of the med) passing into our breast milk is less then l%. Your usage is short term only though, after the swelling of your feet and legs goes down and stays down, you won't have to take the antihistamine any longer.
