    Rex had brought iPod which costs 3,800.00 pesos when He had visited SM mall He had discovered that the same item cost only 2,750.00. What percent had He saved over the original cost.

    All start with.

    X% of Y is Z. What is under OF goes in the denominator. % means over 100.

    so you have X/100 = Z/Y

    Your turn. Your solving for X and you can easily find Z and Y. One value (Z or Y) is one of the numbers given directly. The other indirectly.

    Rex has already spent 3,800 pesos and now he finds that he could habe bought the same iPod for 2,750. Hence he has spent 1,050 pesos more which when compared with 3,800 is 27.63%.
