4 month old puppy died of Parvo
Hello, I am new to the board. We dog sat a 4 month old black lab for 1 week. He was not sick. Four days after we took him home, he got sick. They took him to the vet. The vet said it was Parvo. He was sick 3 days. Poor baby died yesterday. He was a great pup. They said he had his shots. He liked to eat his poop, which we discouraged, big time. My question is, what are the chances my dogs will get sick? I have a 3 yr.old black lab, 100 lbs. and a 2 year old mutt, 40 lbs. Neither are sick at all. They had a set of shots 14 months ago. The 6 in 1 shot( DH4LP ) plus Parvo and Corona and Bordetella. Thank you for any help that you can give me.

If they are up to date, they *should* be okay, but keep an eye on them and call the vet if they get sick. |

Just be sure to clean the environment the puppy was in. Bleach in a 1:10 ratio with water is effective usually. I'm sorry to hear about your puppy. Do you plan on getting another one? If so it is a long wait after a parvo dog has been in your household.. |
