    Independence Day
    Happy Independence day everybody.

Enjoy them, we may not have many more of these, as each year more and more rights are stripped away.

Sorry- not going to be a bummer, just read the news... that's all, I'll try to refrain from that for the duration of the weekend.

I read your other thread nohelp: and I can relate.

Monday of this week it was in the 90's. Now it's barely breaking the 60's it would seem.

What does this mean for a person who suffers from sinus issues and allergies?

Well, I've had a rough couple of days. Living off tylenol sinus and nyquil.

I think it peaked yesderday. Now I'm down to a slight groggy feeling. My constant running nose has stopped, but it has been replaced by a slightly sore throat, and I'm starting to develop a minor cough.

But I can handle that, I really hate the slight chills, and achy feeling, and those seemed to have passed yesterday.

I don't feel like my rights are infringed upon at all. I'm happy to be here. Why are you so gloom and doom? As far as the economy goes, it ebbs and flows. It's coming back. Other than that, I'm perfectly fine in terms of my rights. What exactly are you missing?

    Eehh...

I'm really nervous about this health care thing. I've managed to keep myself and my family insured for a while now, it's already costing an arm and a leg, I don't want it to get worse.

I'm worried about the debt. (the national debt)

I'm worried about the middle east and North Korea (I'm draftable age, 28 male)

It's been a rough year at work, there have been many times I've wondered if I'd have a job at all. And from what I hear, if you loose your job, it's pretty tough finding another one.

I'm not trying to play politics, I'm concerned about issues that effect me, and not worried about politics that don't right now.

I have this feeling, the federal government is just going to keep throwing money at our problems until the bottom finally falls out.

I do love my country, but if things don't start to change soon, I'm worried there won't be an American much longer, at least not the America I was born in.

I've really had enough with "MADE IN CHINA"

I'm tired of paying more taxes for less in return.

You know, if you stop and think about it, it's really kind of a drag being someone "like me". (I'll let you read between the lines on that one)

I pretty much start every day, and try to put myself in a state of bliss, because folks "like me" get the shaft at every turn.

Who's out there looking out for people "like me"?

Where are my tax dollars going?

There are some people in this country who don't have to worry about any of this for one reason or another.

    Must be nice.

I'm counting on President Obama to do it right.

Obama, above all, is a capitalist. Be patient.

I think you need a hug. *hug*

    Where they always have.

    I hope you're right wondergirl.

I think Obama has his heart in the right place. But sometimes even those with the best intentions can fail, I know from personal expirence!

I'm really ready for things to get back to normal.

I want to be able to walk into WALMART and find items made in USA again.

I want to hear the sound of factories humming third shift workers from my house again at night.

I want to see store fronts down main street again and not all these FOR LEASE/FOR SALE signs everywhere.

When I'm not contemplating doom and gloom, I do like to daydream about what I would do if I had Bill Gates money or something.

I've decided I'd like to buy up all of the old Pulaski Furniture buildings and start making electronics there. We'd produce everything from the transistors to the dails, tubes, and all.

I say dails, because I'd like to produce older style nastalgic TV sets, you know, as a novelty item, like those modern record players that have the CD player on the side.

Nice floor model TV sets, with a tube (not LCD). The front would have the dails, but it would also have a remote, and of course, a digital tuner! Built in DVD player and a record player to boot.

    Yea... that'd be cool.

And if that ever did happen, I'd pay my employees well, give them good insurance, and all. Why? Because I'd be content to live on what I make now (about 35k per year) Even in that position. And any of the other "higher ups" that work with me would have to live with that too. Less money on corporate frills and more money for the company and it's people.

No private jets for me. I'd be just as happy to jump in my rusty 89 celebtrity, and drive across the country to do CEO stuff...

That's a huge part of the problem in this country -- greed -- people wanting more and more and more. Consumers want more stuff, CEOs want more money and perks, workers want more pay and benefits. It's human nature. I find it hard to believe that, if your company grows, you will be satisfied with only that amount and will give your workers all the profits. You may not be greedy as much as looking for ways to expand the company, which takes money, and having to hire more people who have to be paid too, and so on. At the end of the day, you will want to reward yourself for all your hard work.

There are a lot of people out there like this (not greedy). I can think of hundreds right off the bat.

It could be argued that the only way to make it in this world is to be greedy.
Like I said "if I had Bill Gates money". But again, it would take greed to get that amount of money in the first place.

I would almost have to "fall into it" for it to work. Which is HIGHLY unlikley.

It wouldn't work, because people out there who aren't greedy would have given all of that money away a long time before they had enough to even start up a small business.

I know a lot of people who have to knowledge and knowhow to do so much better, but they settle for their simple job where ever, why? Not because the don't want more, we'd all love to be rich, it's just that they refuse to screw people over to get there.

America is a great country because of this. Those people who run the big corporations make up less than 1% of the population.

Unfortunately, it takes greed to make it big.

    Now in other news.

My independence day kind of sucked. I thought my sinus infection peaked Friday.

No, I'm hoping like hell it peaked yesterday.

I went to the town flea market, the car show, and by the time we got to the parade, I felt like I was going to get sick. I couldn't wait for it to be over so I could go home, and get some water. (real bad cotton mouth)

I went home, took some sinus medicine, and proceeded to get the worst headache I have had in a long time. My head throbbed for six hours. Finally, I took some excedrin's and it went away. At one time, my tempreture got up just a hair over 101.

It was awful. I feel a little better today, my throat is still a little sore, and I have a lot of crud I'm coughing up. But at least that damn headache is gone.

I guess next independence day, I'll try not to complain about politics.

I was fine until I started this thread.

    Karma I guess. :)

On the plus side, once I got home and laid on the couch in my basement room, I did enjoy the entire series of "The Revolution" on the history channel.

    Off subject (sorry)

It seems that normally we get the weather that you WILL get in about 12 to 24 hours on a pretty much regular schedule, according to my family in Pittsburgh...

So ring my bell when you want 'tomorrow's' weather hon.
