    Another Sticky Toilet Flapper
I have been in my house for two years. It was built about 20 years ago. Since I have moved in all of the toilets have been giving me trouble. The flapper gets sealed too tightly and I have to take the lid off the tank and pull it up to flush it. I want to HD and bought new flappers, but they are not even close to what is in my tank. Mine has a tube over a tube and the flapper is connected to the bottom of the outer plastic tube. It's shaped like a (very) shallow upside down bowl on the bottom.

I thought this would be an easy fix but can't seem to find the parts. Anyone have any thoughts?? I hate to replace the whole inside because I've read bad reviews about replacement kits.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks!

Can you post a pic of your flapper valve? Is your toilet as old as the house? If it is, you may want to just replace the complete toilet. They are fairly cheap(around 100 buck for a regular model).

What's the brand of your toilet? Sounds like a gerber.

Flapper refuses to go down in toilet [ 4 Answers ]

I recently installed my flapper in my toilet and it was working over the last couple of days. When I went to use it this morning, I noticed the flapper was not going down. In other words, it was not returning to the seat. It remained up. I loosened the chain and tightend the chain. Can...

Toilet Flapper Won't Drop [ 2 Answers ]

When flushed, my toilet flapper immediately raises to a 45 degree angle, but then it will not drop completely unless the handle outside the tank is pulled up (jiggling does not solve it). It drops partially, but then the chain is tight and it is does not drop further. Once you pull up the handle,...
