My boyfriend of 4 years just got a new job. He has no license right now due to other circumstances so I have to drive him everywhere. His new job is at a hotel next to where I work- but he refuses to leave his old job that is 20 minutes away. He acts like it is my responsibility to drive him to the old job even though I ask him time and time again to quit. I know that he feels he has to work both because he wants to be the supporter and I make substantially more than he does. I know it is not his fault that he make less, because he is just getting into his career and I have been in mine for 2 years (and not to sound cocky but I work very hard to be the best at what I am doing).
So how do I get him to quit the old job and see that its OK for me to make more money right now??

Quit driving his a$$ to his old job and see how long he keeps it... seriously, let him grow up, without your support for awhile.

I'm guessing you can get by without the extra income?

Is he uncomfortable with you making more, or does he just feel useless from not having a license and is trying to make up for it as much as possible?

The "circumstances" surrounding his not having a license and his treatment of you would raise a red flag in my book.

Just as you worked hard to get where your at, let him do the same, and that includes getting to this job 20 miles away on his own.

I don't think it's just about matching your salary. He needs to work on his career as well. If he can handle the two jobs, then that's his business and you should be proud of him for being able to find a balance. When things get out of hand, then he will face the consequences of his decisions and he might even choose to quit one job.

Either way, he's got to learn on his own, you're not his mom. You're his girlfriend and you should be supporting his endeavors, just as he's suppose to be supporting yours.

I think you are right why are guys always discriminating us because we are girls. Definetily not fear. I think you should talk to him and tell him that you will still love him even if he doesn't have a job. Ask him to stop this job and it is okay if he makes less then you do this is not a competition who makes more. If you love each other and want to be together you should be happy that you have each other. I f you have enough money to live off then you are fine. Now a dats all people care is about money. I hope this helped you.
