Shaving pubic hair now having irritation.
I am a 16 year old female. A few days ago, I went to trim my pubic hairs and trimmed them too short and so they were sticking out of my panties, so I went to cut them shorter but it was uncomfortable. I wound up just shaving them. They started to grow back the day after. I have a razor burn and it really hurts. Not all the time, but if I touch it or rub against it by mistake and sometimes when I bend. How can I calm the irritation? The green aloe that is kind of like a gel helps sunburns would that help the razor burn and would it be safe to use down there?

Please help me out, thank you. <3

Yes aloe would help. I use baby sometimes too but the more you get used to shaving, the less you feel the burn.

I don't shave anymore, I use a depilatory, Nair, or one of the other ones, all are quite good and gentle and eliminate the red bumps.

You can use Nair down there Tickle? Wow. I didn't know that.

OP, I'm in the same boat. I decided to shave my pubic hair the other day and right now I'm kicking myself. Ouch, ouch, ouch.

I'm using vitamin E cream because the Aloe dries the skin and gets sticky. The vitamin E cream soaks in and really helps.

I'm going to give the nair a try. I throwing the razor away.

I'd rather grow my hair back because it's too much work to keep it shaven. And I'd rather just use aloe because it's in the house.

Yes, alty, you can use depilatory down there. You are not putting it on tender spots you are taking off hair. Done it for years, having a much smoother feel and look, just like a baby's butt. In fact, its quicker then shaving.

    Ladies ladies ladies...
A kitty kat wax does the trick and lasts ages!

To the op,tickle has some great advice..

The Nair is a great idea, but do a patch test first, just in case!

    No no no.
No hot wax going near any part of me :D

I like my razor, it took me a while to get my technique down pat but now I don't even get ingrown hairs often (about one every 4-5 months if that)

I always moisturise after I shave.
It also decreases the chance of you getting a shaving rash!

And also use shaving cream when shaving down there (or anywhere) at least then you've known where you've been ! And it makes the shave less rough :)

I have been in your situation and I know how it feels it is absolutely horrible the first few times but the itching and irritation got too much for me so I had to continue with the shaving every day so it never became stubbly or itchy. However that was well over a year ago now and after about a month or more the irritation and regrowth becomes less of a problem and you do not need to shave as regular. I found nappy rash cream or Sudocrem brilliant if layered all over your region before you go to bed. Two things I would advice thought if you plan on continuing to shave down below is never to use mens razors as I did once before and ended up with about 20 in grown hairs and it was unbearable for me to sit down for approximately one week and number two would be not to shave the top part as the hair is coming in from different directions and this is where most ingrown hairs sprout from there is really only the need to shave eithier sides, for the want of a better word your flaps.

Using conditioner can also help the shaving process by softening the hair.

I recommend waxing, but Nair is a close second.

I never shave or use wax or creams. Awful!

However, I use my husband's hair trimmer with the number one comb. Works perfectly.
A beard trimmer works even better. It leaves it very short, but no itching, rash or umcomfortable stubble. Does the bikini line really well too.

If your just looking for a last resort though, I found that vaseline works wonders when your desperate =]
It helps with the itching and gets rid of the soreness.
