    I was caught shop lifting
I was at zellers and I was stealing a game and they caught me and than they were signing these forms and told me I was banned for 1 year and than they called the cops the cops checked my record and I was clean so I didn't get any criminal record and I'm 15 years old. I know I did something super wrong so I was wondering if this will affect my job opportunity in the future. I want to be a cop.

So basically I got caught stealing a game and since my record was clean I'm fine. So I'm wondering if this would affect my future education I live in canada

And one thing I asked the cops was that if I want to be come a cop and I would not have any problems. He told me that I can tell the people that I was young and I didn't do it again. So bsically he told me that there will be a story a story on my record but its not a criminal record. Please give me a honest answer this was also my first time doing this.

And since it didn't go on my criminal record he told me that they will still know, what is that called?

I worked in retail security for 13 years and no, it won't affect your ability to become a cop or anything else. If you were not charged there is no arrest record and even if there was some sort of a record, juvenile records are, as a general rule, sealed and are not available when a records check is done.

The only record you have is on a form in a file cabinet in the store. And they are not allowed to reveal it due to privacy issues.

Agreed, no this should not effect your abiity to be a police officer
    1. minor crime
    2. done it appears as a juvenile

Now if you want to run for governor or president or even become the police chief for a major city, come clean with it, since there is a paper in a file cabinet somewhere and will show up at some point then
