    Looking for birth parents
    I was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on August 30 1966. I promised my adopted mom and dad that I would not look for my birth mom and dad until they were gone. I would love to know who I look like. I have no issues with why you gave me up I would just like to know simple little things like who I look like? Do I have sisters and brothers? What is you're health history.

    This is not a message board. This is not how it works. If you want to post a message for your birth parents, there are many sites where you CAN post and hope they read your message.

    In the meantime, I've (again - with apologies) called in the expert.

    Before anyone gets involved in this, how old are you? You promised not to look for your birth parents until your adoptive parents are deceased. Are they deceased?

    You promised your adoptive parents not to look until they are gone---fine. Get them to write down everything and anything they remember about your adoption for you to have after they are deceased.

    1. Contact the adoption agency to leave a message for any biological parents that might be looking.
    2. Contact the courthouse in the county where you were adopted to do the same thing.
    3. Register on reunion websites such as ISSR, adoption.com and adoption.org

    As a last ditch effort (because it gets very expensive, very quickly) you could hire a private detective.

    Without more information than your date and place of birth though, you are going to be hunting kind of blind. In some cases, your birth certificate got changed to reflect your date of ADOPTION instead of your date of birth.

    I am a birth mom, and I am also a birth sister who has reunited with both son and brother. I think its pretty normal and important for adoptees to find their birth families. Try the Adoption.com site, they have search links for free you can write down all that you know and also do a search to see if anyone is searching for you...
