guesswhoiam, I got it from a pharmacy locally and the owner is my friend. Even he is my friend, he still asks for a prescription. I have a prescription from my doctor (my uncle). He then compounds the mixture specifically for me. I told him what lotion I am using. I was using powder and tried to mix it myself at first since I got the powder from a friend who bought it from Anil. Both mixtures seems to give the same result. I would say Anil's mono is good based on that result. But, I only used his powder for about 3 months on and off at the beginning when I got red rashes and irritation, then for only one month at the 20%. I am on my 4th month with compounded lotion at 20%.

fairr, I am making progress and thanks for asking. I only use mono on my neck, hands and feet. I got spots in my 3rd months and all seems to connect slowly. My hands are now in two colors, upper hands are a lot lighter than my lowers'. It is not too distictable since I am a light olive color. I wear long sleeves most of the time now. The doctor (my uncle) told me that it will all clear up by the 7th or 8th month. Then my body will start the depig. Process evenly. Wish me luck since mono may NOT work for a person like me who only have a very little vitiligo 10-15%. I won't do it if they are not on my visible parts of my skin. Good luck to you all mono users :)...

fairr, I am not saying anil's powder is real since I am not a chimist and did not tested it. I am just sharing my experience. Anil's powder mixture gave me all the mono's side effects when I started. Later, it gave me some white spots. When I used the compounded mixture at the beginning, I was fine without any side effect. I'll be very careful to share my experience from now on :)...

Thank for sharing your stories all... it is helping me make up my mind what best products to use. I bought Hydro powder from mono.net but it is slowly working and if I simply stopped using it for 1 day - 1 day... I go right back to my original shade... its frustrating because this stuff is so expensive.
Ugggg!

People don't use mono unless you are willing to make a commitment for a few years to see it through

All, lighterrr is right. My uncle tolld me that it takes 1 to 2 years for people who have 50%+ vitiligo to finish. In my case (10%+) it may take longer 2/3 years. I have prepared to go for it after the serious consideration with family supports. I am pretty fair to start with and have good results in my 4th months, he told me that I may be done within 2 years. I am just happy and feel lucky to here that. Also, my face and neck are almost done. My hands are half way done. Once, my hands are done, I'll be looked normal, in one colour. Another point is that, make sure you get the correctly compounded mono and have a Doc. To oversee you. My chemist have to give me a different compounded mixture for the Winter, Spring and Summer. Good luck to all of us.

Sorry took long to talk on ere again.
My face and neck is reallllly light but the rest of my body doesn't want to budge.
Any tips nt too sure what to do.
My face peels and the gets lighter and then goes to one uniform colour and is really smooth and soft and then it starts to peel again. The cycle continues.#
At the mo my face is really light like a pinkishish beigey yellow.
I've got dark circles under my eyes but their easy to disguish with some foundation.
At the mo I have to wear a darker foundation on my face and neck so it blends with my body, il do this until my body is one uniform colour. I have to wear long sleaves and turtle necks but I don't really care. I'm happy with my face and neck.

Banana, how did you mix your mono. Right now, my arms are extremely dry and peeling. They have gotten really dark too. I'm not applying it to my face.

Hey guys, sorry I've been away too... just haven't had time to log in.
My mono progress is going OK... still using anil's mono.. Im the same, my face is lighter than the rest of my body... my arms are a little lighter, and some parts of my back and my chest and neck... though everywhere else hasn't done much.. I have a few very small light spots, one near my naval, one next to my big toe, one on my upper part of my arm and one near my underarm... my butt, my neck and behind my knees are the darkest parts of my body at the moment.
Anyway I will try to log in in the next couple of weeks with more of an update..

imgorgeous, are you sure that your mono is pure ? My chemist compounds the cream with different recipes based on my skin type for me. I do not know the actual recipes, but, the most important point is to use a good absorbent base. Then use more oil in the cream (almond/avocado oil, shea butter, etc.) during the dry months and reduce oil during the hot months. He also ask me to use a good body moisturizer after 2 hours of mono application. Also, please do exfoliation at least twice a week and use sunblock cream (not sunscreen) SPF 55+ whenever you go out. Hope that help.

Well folks... I had purchased some 20% mono from Hong Kong at about $13 bucks per tube... and I used it for 4 days on my legs and started to see white spots... so it's working already. It looks like it's the same brand that is being sold by fairglow for 45 bucks per tube. However, like lighterrr said you have to be committed to the complete depig. So I stopped. I don't want to depig... just get a few shades lighter... so I will stick to the hydro for now. I just wanted to share with you how much cheaper you can get it.

Hi mcgm... OK as far as the oil is concerned its summer so isn't using it at the moment... but have mixed my product in rubbing alcohol... am using sunblock and not sunscreen every single day... and I exfoliate almost every alternate day ./...
Am I not compounding things right ?
You know I really can't tell you how depressed I am getting over this... mono doenst work for me, that crappy benzylarubuitin didn't work at all, and now in desperation I'm trying with hydroquinone.. and its not working.. at the moment.. my crystals anyway get brown eveyrtime I add to alcohol and heat it.. so its like useless immeidately...
Please help me... I'm fed up of going super red in the face every time like I have eeczema with these products and then people tell me wait for sometime till it rubs out and you will get lighter.. well I haven't gotten lighter at all.. I'm just the same colour I have been in many years... in fact my natural baby colour was whitish.. not caucasian but north indian white... which is very fair.. I can't even get to that colour with these products...
Its absolutely depressing !
PLEASE help me guys... today I was so upset I mixed HQ and Mono... together... then applied retin a before applying this mix !
As usual I am Bloddy red in the face... I look darker than some indians who are usually so much darker than me *( at least in the face )

imgorgeous, I feel your pain. I get dpressed sometimes too. Sometimes these things look like they are working and then after a week or so it just stops as if opening and closing the jar somehow depletes the effectiveness. One thing I can tell you is to stop switching from product to product when you don't see results right away. Stick with the Hydro for now... only. My experience is when I start using it I seem to get a little darker for the first few days but then start to lighten up (if it's a good solution that is) So what strength Hydro are you using? All you need to do is dissolve it in some oil... especially an oil that already has like 2% hydro (they sell them everywhere in the beauty shop) then add that oil to your cream and use away and not think about it. I use if after every shower and durng the day on my hands after every hand wash. Cheer up sweetie!
