I am looking to start a business which involves the spiritual cleansing of peoples homes, I have researched and I am unable to find what (if any) licenses are needed to complete this. The business would involve myself using my own personal car to go to the customers house, cleansing without the use of any dangerous or harmful substances.

Please could anyone help me with what I would require to carry out on a job, such as licenses and insurance etc.

There is no particular license for this service. Since you're delivering a service and not a product, I suppose you would be licensed and taxed like ANYONE who delivered services to a homeowner like a painter (minus his materials) or a maid.

Since you're going to be in people's homes insurance is a necessity and being bonded won't hurt either. I wouldn't think you'd be REQUIRED to have a bond, but it would certainly help your marketing.

To be certain about these requirements, hire a CPA. It's his JOB to know. Don't, however, ask the clerk at the license department. THEY don't know.

Do they get a guarantee that the work has been completed ? That would be pretty important to me.

I would make it clear them that you are bonded, so have you and your team get a background check to make sure no one has any previous convictions.

I would imagine the licensing would be the same as house cleaners which would a business licence and you may want to ask your insurance agent what kind of liability insurance you need for home based accidents, etc.

I think the best thing would be to ask spiritual healers because I don't know how you would go about getting such a license if any did exist but it would be good since there are a lot of scam artists in the paranormal.

OP doesn't need a particular license, and as you say, don't think there would be a category, but does need a business license for a registered company if he wants to carry on a legitimate business no matter what kind of business it is.

Are you talking about going to people's homes and 'spiritually cleaning' the home from bad spirits?

Or are you talking about actual house cleaning using 'green' type products?
