    Auto air conditioning
I have a olds van & latley when I turn on the fan to high it runs great for awhile but, then the fan will shut off & I have no air. When I let it cool down about 10 min. or so it will come back on. Before I take it to get serviced can someone tell me if it is the fan motor or what it might be? Thanks

    Hi,

Your condition is heat related, most likely a very loose connection on the switch. It runs OK cool and when heats up, causes expansion and looses connection. If you can pull the switch and check connections or go to fuse box and re-seat the fuse for the fan circuit and just may solve the problem.

Most likely not the motor as they either run or they don't. Check any and all connections you can get to for the fan circuit. Also check and see if compressor is running with fan not working. If compressor is working, ( you will see the A/C compressor turning).

Bottom line, the fan should run regardless if the A/C is working or not.
You may have a bad connection in the key switch assembly. Usually located on the steering column.

Good luck and hope it helps.
