    Mfaustrum:

If you used the correct washers around the tank bolts then either you have not tightened the bolts enough OR could be that there was some sediment that got caught under the washers...

I would have you remove the tank bolts and clean them all up, clean the inner tank well and then re-install the bolts.

You should tighten the bolts enough to leave about 1/4" of play in the tank when it is pushed on...

Finally, check that the leak is not actually coming from the flush valve spud washer... this is a more common issue than the tank bolts, but could show up looking as if the tank bolts are leaking... so check that, too... ;)

Let us know if you need more info...

    Good luck!

There is a "feel" a plumber gets when he is working with china. "If I give this nut one more twitch, I'm gonna break something". The best I can tell you is to SNUG the bolts down. Checking every 1/4 turn to see how the tank sets. I leave just a little play in the tank. If you tighten it down with no give at all, some one could lean back hard and crack the china at the bolt holes. That's less likely to happen if the tank gives just a bit.. Hope this helps and thank you for rating my reply. TOM
