Procedure for filing wage garnishment for alimony in virginia
My ex refuses to pay me court ordered alimony.I would like to know if filing a garnishment summons is the only form I need to file in court to have his wages garnished? Do I need to file a proof of service,a notice of motion of judgement,a suggestion for summons in garnishment and a petition for proceeding in civil case without payment of fees or costs? I am broke. Also do I need to file a list of exhibits to enter the divorce decree as evidence he owes me the alimony?Would I need file any or all of these forms at the same time? Please help.Circuit Court in Virginia has jurisdiction

Gosh, are you sure it is as complicated as all that?

If you have a court order for alimony, why not submit a wage assignment to the court for signature and then set it on to the employer thereafter? That's all you have to do in California.

What's all this nonsense about a "proof of service,a notice of motion of judgement,a suggestion for summons in garnishment and a petition for proceeding in civil case without payment of fees or costs"? Sounds like a bunch of gobbledygook to me.

I'm a lawyer who does not usually do this kind of law, but I am trying to do one now for a friend who really needs who past due support. I think that I can attach his assets and then file a show cause.
