    Amex summons
I am about to receive a summons from amex for a $30,000 credit card. I owe approx $150,000 in card debt. Can I offer amex .20 on the dollar and pay over 4 years and do the same with the other cards to avoid BK?
I will earn maybe 70,000 this year.

You can offer. They may or may not accept it. I tend to doubt it since they would rather go to court and get the judgment, historically speaking.

I would tend to doubt it also. Since you are gainfully employed, they would rather go after your salary.

But, by all means, contact them to negotiate a settlement. Maybe they accept $.60 on the dollar or some other figure.

The issue AMEX will see is just because they settle with you does not necessarily mean you won't file BK anyway. If they get the judgment, they will likely get more no matter what the situation.
